Once a generation, a group of artists appears to define the spirit of their time. With regards to American popular music, there was one group that stood out from the pack, able to deliver songs both catchy and deep, and one that created a whole new sound. But until the lawsuit is settled, our Limp Bizkit retrospective will have to wait. In the meantime, here's Episode 26, dedicated to some forgettable band from California.

For me, a modern equivalent of In My Room:

Great tribute show. The harmonies of the Beach Boys are so unique. It's like listening to a Barber Shop Quartet on helium.
Should you decide to go with a cover theme, you may wish to consider the Elvis song "Can't Help Falling in Love", which was later released by Corey Hart.
Chellie suggest a version of "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", done by the early Osmonds, following the original by the Hollies.
Then there's the Peter, Paul and Mary version of "Where Have All the Flowers Gone", first done by Pete Seeger.
Another good one is by Friends of Distinction who did an upbest version of "Peaceful", originally done by Kenny Rankin.
Please refer to my comments from episode 25, if poems count as covers. Dust is special.
Congrats to Alissa and Tyler on reaching the 1/2 year marker!

I think that was the first time that I really gave the Beach Boys a seriously good listen. Gravy...
I'm really liking the new themed format, makes every episode unique... the same but different...Like a snowflake.
Also, points for the Weezer vid! If you ever do a Weezer show I will be forever happy (and hopefully involved somehow?????)!
Happy Half!
A landmark episode in podcasting!
