...okay, "I ain't no holla back girl". But thanks for the shout out.

I loved Alice's aspirated sigh of shame when she was talking about her choices. Fabulous. I spent many a moment over the past week discussing with Tyler exactly WHAT constitutes a guilty pleasure and I think shame really is at the heart of it. I could like even YODELING in private, but if someone else heard me listening to it? I would want to crawl under a rock and die. (Especially if it was yodeling, oh heavens.) So after all the debate, I think Alice may be right: The public shame element is key.

Did you know that "Torn" is actually a COVER? I didn't until just now. Via wiki.

Some of these songs are REALLY bad and/or guilty. "Hey There, Delilah"? Horrible. I like "Before You", too, for reasons completely unknown.

I like Third Eye Blind. And I do feel guilty about it.

Although my "expertise" (if you will) has been called upon, I have to say that although I really DO like "So You Think You Can Dance", I don't watch it every week nor do I know very much about the contestants. As such, I have no idea if any of the contestants had cancer. Really, I just love the dancing and tend to go make myself a cup of tea during the judges comments. Sorry to disappoint.

TW, I have known you for ten years. That is a long time. I am still surprised by you sometimes. Namely, right now when you admit to liking "Baby, When You're Gone". That is the most CRINGEWORTHY song on here.

"Call On Me". Interesting choice. According to my research (Dorothy-Ann style), it does sample an 80s song, "Valerie" by Steve Winwood.

Monopoly: the Movie is FO REAL.

I am sure Tyler has seen this before, but Alice, check it out. Re: making movies of board games.

Great show, TW and AG!

After scarfing down a few gravol, I settled in to listen to guilty pleasures this evening. It took a lot of intestinal fortitude for me to get through the episode, but even greater courage for you both to 'fess' up to those tunes on the air.

But do not feel too embarrassed! I am quite sure that everyone has a few musical skeletons in the closet. Mine has something to do with "more cow bell".

Actually, quite a few of the selected songs have catchy melodies. It's the lyrics that are gag-inducing!

Can hardly wait for 31.

It came to me this morning: my media player was on shuffle and I was cleaning my apartment. And then I heard it--

AM RADIO by Everclear.

Oh God, it's so BAD. But so good.

I would just like to emphasize Tyler's comment about Montreal radio...it is terrible! You spend more time changing stations then you do listening...

With that in mind, the first time I heard Hey there, Delilah I thought it was a good, catchy, sweet song. Then the radio just had it's way with it. Similar to what Tyler was saying about Torn, you could literally flip through the stations and be guaranteed that it would be on somewhere. After hearing about 1000 times in a week, I had to try really hard not to drive my car off a cliff...

Other than that, I enjoyed most of that music and had actually forgotten about half of it. go figure...

One other thing to add, regarding the monopoly movie or game inspired movies... did you guys ever see the movie Clue? It was a great movie from the 80's (?) based solely on a board game. That's all to say that there is potential for a movie based on board game to actually be good.
