S02 E35: Earworms for the New Millennium

Folks, there are a few good reasons to get excited for this week's dose of the Show. First of all, it's one of our always-enjoyable (as in, the only other time we've done this, the number of letter-bombs waned for a week) earworm episodes; second of all, we're only playing popular music from the last ten years (You won't learn anything new today. Hooray!). Third and last of all, you won't have to confront Robbie Ford's bloated, ogre-like visage at the top of the posts anymore. Double hooray!

PLAYLIST

Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies)
Gorillaz - Dirty Harry
The White Stripes - 7 Nation Army
Muse - Starlight
Rhianna - Umbrella
Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out
Beyonce - Crazy in Love
The Killers - Mr. Brightside
Gnarls Barkley - Crazy
Gwen Stefani ft. Akon - Sweet Escape
Outkast - Ms. Jackson
MIA - Paper Planes
MGMT - Kids

The closet Star Trek geek in me finds it hilarious that the Wikipedia 'earworm' article finds it necessary to emphasise the distinction between that and the earworm creature from Star Trek II.

///also, I've now got Ms. Jackson and Umbrella and stuck in my head, though since that was the point I'm not complaining

Dear Hosts of ASR:

I very much appreciated the update on Hamilton. Hopefully the PanAm Games will be successful, but it seems the City is doing everything within its power to screw things up. Municipal politics in Ontario is so incredibly messed up (except for Mississauga and its run by an octogenarian. Perhaps that's the key to success!).

As for Montreal, I will have to visit that museum again. The exhibition on Park X will be worth seeing!

Enjoyed the music selection, although I was amazed how many songs were new to me. Where have I been?

A la prochaine,

Brutus
